4.08 Working in Harmony: Putting IT, HR & CRE/FM in a Room Together to Make Sweet Music

Wednesday, April 3, 2013
9:30 AM-10:30 AM
Track: Council/Industry Specific
Format: Case Study
Organization: IFMA
Knowledge Level: 200 level
Session Description: The FM profession has been talking for years about the need for HR, IT and CRE/FM to work more closely together in support of workforce productivity. Yet a recent report by RICS showed that FM’s alignment with IT and HR, in particular, is relatively low. What does it take to achieve constructive working relationships across these three very different infrastructure groups?

This panel includes senior professionals from all three disciplines who worked together to create a highly successful and award-winning flexible work program for SCAN Health Plan. The panel conversation will include what they did, how they did it, what it took together, and how their joint efforts changed SCAN’s strategic positioning and capabilities.

Learning Objectives:
  • Identify the respective roles of HR, IT and CRE/FM in designing and implementing new forms of work.
  • Hear the story of how HR, IT and CRE/FM collaborated to transform the workplace at SCAN Health Plan.
  • Understand the organizational barriers that inhibit more meaningful collaboration among HR, IT and FM.
  • Explore the implications of SCAN's experience for other organizations and for CRE/FM professionals in the future.
  •     Conference Proceedings
