Session Description: This session will be an interactive conversation for Corporate Real Estate Council members discussing current “hot” topics, including issues and solutions encountered by participants. At the conclusion, a list of topics that CREC will address during the coming year will be presented and additional topics will be solicited.

    Tom Turley is a Managing Director in Jones Lang LaSalle's Los Angeles office. The majority of Mr. Turley’s career has been dedicated to strategic planning and implementation for large portfolios, in both the private and public sector, with an emphasis on build to suits, development consulting developer competition and debtrelated due diligence and restructures. He has represented clients in more than 3 million square feet of build-to-suit projects and more than 20,000 acres of land development consulting, valued at over $1 billion. He has represented clients on 6 million square feet in over 15 states. In addition to Mr. Turley 's brokerage experience, he also spent three years as the Vice President of Real Estate for Accruent, the leading US lease administration and portfolio management software company with over 3 billion square feet managed. Mr. Turley’s responsibilities included strategic planning for large real estate portfolios,technology due diligence and implementation, and operating expense analyses.

    Janice Cimbalo is a senior vice president in Jones Lang LaSalle’s Los Angeles region. For the last 13 years, her career has been dedicated to strategic planning and implementation for large portfolios throughout the United States and internationally in both the public and private sectors. She also focuses on value-added client services such as incentive negotiations and workplace strategy evaluation. Prior to becoming a real estate tenant advisor, Cimbalo was a litigation attorney for seven years. She is currently the vice president and immediate past president of IFMA’s Corporate Real Estate Council, and co-authored the IFMA Foundation publication "Cut it Out." Currently, she is a contributing author on the IFMA Foundation’s international workplace strategy book.

    Jim Ware works with senior executives who want to take charge of the future by building organizations that attract exceptional people, leverage innate talent and increase productivity. He is a former Harvard Business School professor who has spent his entire career helping clients invent their own futures by exploring and interpreting the changing nature of work, the workforce and the workplace. He facilitates conversations and collaborative learning, builds scenarios of alternative futures, and transforms ideas and insights into bottom-line results. Jim is currently the executive director of the Future of Work unlimited research program and advisory services. He has more than 30 years of experience in research, executive education, consulting and management, including five years on the faculty of the Harvard Business School. He is the author of Chapter 8, Managing Change, from the 2011 IFMA Foundation book, "Work on the Move." He was also a co-author and lead editor for "Cut It Out! Save for Today, Build for Tomorrow," IFMA Foundation September 2009. He co-authored "Corporate Agility" (2007), which addresses the need for organizations to integrate the H.R., I.T. and CRE/facilities functions to develop new capabilities for competing in a flat, global economy. Jim holds a Ph.D., M.A. and B.Sc. degrees from Cornell University and an MBA (With Distinction) from the Harvard Business School. He currently serves as the elected president of the Corporate Real Estate Council of IFMA.
