Session Description: The purpose of this presentation / discussion is to review best practices used by the San Diego Chapter for their Web communications.  We would like to assist other chapters in building better communications for their own chapters.  This session will be interactive and we urge attendees to be prepared to ask questions.

The Chapter leadership and the Communications Committee have put a great deal of time and energy over the last two years into creating a new website that is both easy to navigate and full of information. 

The IFMA San Diego Chapter Website is the key communication tool for our members.  The strategy for our website is to communicate with our members and prospective members to increase and support their knowledge of matters relating to facility management as well as educational opportunities and networking. 

As an additional bonus, we are able to share this information with all of our social media outlets using a single platform!  Instead of going individually to our social media outlets to make our posts, we are using a technology platform called "HooteSuite" that updates all outlets with one click!

    David Suter has been the Vice President of Consolidated Building Systems Inc. (CBSI) for the last 14 years. He has managed several ground up building projects, infrastructure upgrades, tenant improvements, along with multiple complicated relocation projects. He spent 10 years managing projects for the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District and spent five of those years as the acting Facilities Manager during the implementation of their $205M Construction Bond. Prior to working at CBSI, he was the Facility Manager at CCN, a San Diego-based managed healthcare provider. David currently serves as the Vice President of the San Diego Chapter and Chair of the Communications Committee. In 2010 David redesigned and relaunched the chapter website. In May of 2012 David led the Communications Committee in developing the submittal for Excellence in Web Communication to IFMA International. This became the winning submission and David accepted the award on behalf of the chapter at World Workplace in San Antonio, Texas, in November of 2012.
